Anne, Emily,Tara and Misty of BodyTrends display Venetian Masquerade Costumes  The Event was hosted by BodyTrends associate and Bodybuilding Champion, Mr Joey Codner, and a few of his friends (competitive Bodybulders he trains for Mr. Oklahoma & NPCC Competitions).  They made sure all of the party guest were happy and enjoyed themselves. The photo-shoot, which took place about 3 weeks before the party, was Magical.  The images generated were edgy, sexy, compelling and captivating. Little to no photo-editing of the images was necessary. The images were RAW. They got attention, and that was the goal. Not bad, for a first-time model.  His only request of us was not to highlight his identity.  He is a Businessman who oversees about 40 people, he has an MBA, he coaches a high-school football team on the side.  He didn't think the "folks at work" would understand.  And if the 'kids on the team" got a hold of the photos, they'd be plastered all around the gym.....he'd never hear the end of it.  Begrudgingly, we have complied with his request, so long as he helps us with our next project. Until the Next one...... SENSA: Your Weight Loss Solution May be Right Under your Nose! Sensa: Common "Scents" Approach to Weight Loss Reprinted from So6ix Magazine You need to fit into that sleek, partially-revealing swimsuit by next summer. You want people to stare, to sigh, and to melt when they see you.  The only problem is that you are about 20lbs over what you need to get that reaction.  Instead of people melting at the sight of you, they react by pitying you. There are literally hundreds of options for losing weight.  For larger amounts of weight, the hCG Diet may be the best option for rapid results.  For a slower, the best option may be an appetite suppression medication like Phentermine (Adipex-P) or a fat-blocker like Alli.    Diet programs like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig emphasize the role of support in weight loss along with eating correctly and sensibly. Others still find success with Calorie Restriction, which only works well if not undermined by a lack of will power.   But for many people who are overweight, and have tried and failed just about every diet plan known to man, there are few remaining options.   Clearly for those people, there is a need for a simple, "common sense" approach to weight loss, where the body actually helps in the process rather than hinders. Sensa, is a relatively new concept in weight management that approaches weight loss through modulation of the sense of smell and taste.  The modulation causes a premature activation of the "sense of fullness", or satiety, which is initiated after eating has begun. The Sensa breakthough was the results of patented technology based on two decades of scientific investigation by Alan Hirsch, MD, the Director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago.   Dr. Hirsch, who is a world-renowned Neurologist and Psychiatrist, noted the peculiar finding of rapid weight gains in patients suffering a specific brain-injury pattern whereby the ability to smell or taste was lost.  He reasoned if losing the sense of smell or taste resulted in gaining weight, then perhaps giving a normal person "extra smell" could lead to losing weight.   He proposed that the "extra smell" would stimulate receptor molecules in the Olfactory bulb inside the nose.  The receptor binding process in the bulbs would then act to stimulate an area of the brain known as the satiety center.  The result of this stimulation would be to give the body a sense of fullness or satiety, and extinguishing any desire to eat further. Biochemists in Dr. Hirsch's laboratory isolated and purified Salt-like, crystalline compounds, called "tastants", which were capable of stimulating the olfactory bulb in the nasal passages to produce the satiety response. The tastants he produced are virtually tasteless and odorless, but are capable of mimicking the chemical responses we produce in response to smells and tastes.  The compounds were then given to test subjects who sprinkled them on food like "salt" at the beginning of every meal.  The 1436 people who participated in this study lost on average 30.5 lbs in the 6-month period. The advantages of Sensa weight loss lies in the fact it is not a traditional "diet". There is no reliance on food restriction or calorie-restriction.  One can theoretically eat anything at all, including favorite foods.  So, unlike the popular Weight Watchers and Nutrisystems diet plans, there are no pre-packaged meals to buy.  This makes Sensa a more economical weight-loss option.  The Sensa company even offers a 30-Day trial-period with a satisfaction-guarantee where you can try it for free.  Sensa also has no apparent side-effects, in contrast with other weight loss medications like Alli (diarrhea) and Adipex (heart racing/palpitations).  With no calorie counting, Sensa is the easiest way to lose weight.  It is as simple as using a salt shaker. BodyTrends Client Morgan Woolard, Miss Oklahoma USA Now A Household Name

BodyTrends Client Morgan Woolard, Miss Oklahoma USA makes Oklahoma, America and BodyTrends Proud Who would have thought Morgan Woolard, OSU student, hometown girl from Southside OKC, and Client at BodyTrends would be virtually a household name this week?  We did. We even predicted it in the last newsletter we sent you! You really have to know Morgan Woolard to understand. "She is simply one of the most delightful, charismatic, driven, and beautiful individuals we have ever had the opportunity to work with at BodyTrends", says Stacey Neuhauser, manager of the BodyTrends South location, who oversaw Morgan's bodysculpting treatments.  Obviously, the judges at the Miss USA felt the same as she was awarded the title of 1st Runner-up to Miss USA. And, over the past few days, judging from the response of the public, she is clearly America's favorite.  At last count, two different Facebook pages of supporters who feel that Morgan should have been the judges choice for Miss USA have appeared. Significant controversy still exists surrounding the Miss USA panel's decision to award Miss Michigan USA the title of MIss USA over Morgan.  The seemingly inappropriately controversial and possibly unfair question that Morgan was asked about the new Arizona immigration law, and the fact that Miss Michigan, the winner, had actually 'tripped' in stage during evening gown have led to many questioning the decision of the panel. In addition, photos which appear to be at odds with "decency" clauses in the Miss USA Contract has also been scrutinized, as well as Miss Michigan's appearance in a low-budget film called "Throbbing Justice".  Despite the heartbreaking decision of the judges for Oklahoma fans, Morgan proved her worthiness of the title on Monday in her interviews on "FOX & friends", "America LIVE" with Megyn Kelly, and "Inside Edition". In those interviews,  She indicated that she answered her question with conviction, has no regrets and is looking forward, not backward. Morgan began her preparation at BodyTrends, shortly before winning the Miss Oklahoma USA title in a pageant held late last year in Oklahoma City.  She has spent the last several months preparing at BodyTrends, sometimes up to 2 hours per day" enhancing, fine-tuning, and exaggerating the beautiful lines and curves.  Stacey Neuhauser, who oversaw Morgan's nonsurgical bodysculpture comments that "Morgan was beautiful when she got to us.  She had already been working with a personal trainer. The challenge was to find the way to make her body as close to perfect as possible...and further define it, correct the things that personal training had not... and to take the judges' breath away".  Morgan responded well to BodyTrends VIP Isogei and the Accent XL laser, which helped accentuate and exaggerate the proportions her waist and hips, and to further define her Abs and arms.  The Accent XL Laser, which can melt fat, contour areas of the body, and tighten skin, also gave her the "Banjo-tight" skin.  In a pageant setting this is key.  When walking across the stage, no part of the body should 'jiggle'.  Accent XL insures this wont happen.  The effect of this treatment series gave Morgan nearly "impossible dimensions and amazing muscular definition, bound to capture the judges' attention", according to BodyTrends owner and medical director, Dr. Harvey Jenkins.  And this is exactly what it did on the Miss USA pageant preliminary night and again on May 16th 2010, the night of the televised Miss USA Pageant.  In attendance in Las Vegas cheering Morgan on were Dr. Jenkins, Owner Tashonda Dixon, and Managers, Stacey Neuhauser and Wanda Hutton (North BodyTrends location).  Wanda specifically oversaw the bodysculpting treatment another of the Miss USA Contestant, Bethany Gerber (Miss Kansas USA).   Bethany also did well, as she finished in the Top 15!  The VIP system is the same firming and toning system based on E-stim that was popularized by Jennifer Berry, Lauren Nelson, who used VIP in preparation for Miss America, and most recently by BodyTrends Client Taylor Treat, the current Miss Oklahoma (America). What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion, also known as “Microderm”, is a group of related cosmetic procedures in which the superficial layer of dead skin, the stratum corneum, is exfoliated or removed partially or completely by light abrasion. It has also been called a ‘lunchtime peel”, a “power peel”, or a “derma peel” The purpose of the light abrasion is to remove sun-damaged skin, to remove or less the appearance of scars, and or to improve the appearance of areas of pigmentation abnormalities or dark spots. Microdermabrasion can also help improve fine-lines, wrinkles, large pores and even skin tone, leaving it with a soft and radiant glow. It has the fewest side effects of any skin procedure and works well on all skin types and colors. It helps the skin look younger, healthier, and for some people, close to perfect. It is a common procedure performed in OKC. Microdermabrasion is quick and painless, and can be performed without the use of general anesthesia, as we do daily at BodyTrends.


Microdermabrasion is distinguished from Dermabrasion, a more extensive cosmetic medical procedure, in that Dermabrasion involves a complete abrasion of the skin. Because of the extent of removal of the epidermis, Dermabrasion, which is usually performed with an electric particle ‘sander’ is painful, involves bleeding and requires general anesthesia. The skin is frequently red and raw looking, and may take several weeks to heal. Although the results with Dermabrasion can be good, the procedure does involve a risk of infection and permanent scarring. The pain, downtime, risk of infection or permanent scarring and long time to heal has made Dermabrasion option a non-ideal option. For more extensive skin rejuvenation, most people will opt for the non-invasive laser resurfacing like Pixel, and may use microdermabrasion for an anti-aging maintenance plan.


What is DermaSweep?

DermaSweep is the medical Microdermabrasion system which combines gentle precision brush-tip skin exfoliation with variable vacuum pressure, and the option of infusion of vitamins, cosmeceuticals and botanicals that enrich the skin, making it the most comfortable and efficacious skin treatments available. Dermasweep has a variable level vacuum that gently lifts the skin, and allows the nylon bristles to perform a more effective and less-irritative exfoliation. The lack of particles avoids the problem of crystal retention by the skin. The DermaSweep technology allows the simultaneous infusion of a number of solutions formulated to address specific dermatological conditions. These solutions include Hyaluronic Acid, Salicylate, Vitamin C, Kojic Acid, Panthenol, Lactic acid, Azelaic Acid, Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Witch Hazel, Bearberry, or Licorice Root.

In general an improvement is seen with the first treatment, and less treatments are required than for conventional microdermabrasion techniques.
